The Short Sale Process
The short sale process for you as a seller is not much different than a regular real estate sale. In addition to listing your home, we need to gather some additional financial information from you. We will help you to prepare a hardship letter explaining your financial predicament and asking for the bank to consider a short sale. Authorization for the attorney to discuss your file with the bank is needed. A check list of necessary items and forms are included in the Short Sale Packet from attorney Karen E. Tietz, P.C.
Many Realtors boast that they handle all negotiations with the banks themselves. Ask yourself if you would rather have a competent attorney and team who specialize in short sales negotiating on your behalf or a Realtor who is juggling many other responsibilities. Communicating with banks requires staying in touch often to make sure your file stays a priority among the many other files. Many hours are spent on the phone and it's normal to be put on hold a lot. Karen Tietz and her team are great at staying on top of their files. They are very organized and keep us well informed with regular status updates. The fact that her services are routinely paid for by the banks makes it very easy to recommend Karen and her team!
